Note that the birth date on the gravestone has been interpreted as 8 Jul 1779. However, it appears to be 8 Jul 1799, which is more consistent with the census records for Timothy's second wife.

  4.   Christian, Kentucky, in United States. 1850 U.S. Census Population Schedule. (National Archives Microfilm Publication M432).

Mary Dunnavan, age 56, born in Virginia
Madison M Dunnavan, age 40, born in Virginia, constable
Ellen E C Dunnavan, age 11, born in Kentucky

Note that Ellen is of an age where she could have been the daughter of Timothy and Mary or of Mathison, if he had been married and widowed. Most online trees and Find A Grave show Ellen (born 18 Nov 1838 in Hopkinsville, married Robert Mills 23 Dec 1857, died 1 Jan 1917 in Georgia) as the daughter of Timothy, but the only evidence I could find online was for her marriage, which doesn't identify her parents. Ellen is the female under the age of 5 in the 1840 census. Mathison is likely one of those aged 20-29.
