In his book Robert Coe, Puritan, His Ancestors and Descendants, 1340-1910, J. Gardner Bartlett writes of "Mary Anna Szerdahely von Berlan, born in Hanover, Pa, Aug. 24, 1824, daughter of Matthieu Berlendis and Anna Vasa (von Szerdahely) von Berlan. She is descended from two ancient families of the nobility of Hungary and Prussia, viz.: Berlendis, Barons de Berlaubach et Berlebourg 1441, and Comtes en Hongroie 1763; and Szerdahely von Egyhazas ou Vasaros-Szerdahely, Comtes en Hongroie 1370, Prusse 1802. After the death of her husband she united her family name with his and she and her unmarried daughters have since been known as 'Coe von Berlan'." (page 301)

Researcher note: The above account is not documented and, to the contrary, the marriage record of Mary Anna to Julius does not support the Berlendis and von Szerdahely name claims (RCH)
