Joseph married (2) Mary Endicott(?) of Salem about 1677-8 per the 1846 Herrick Genealogical Register, but that date has not been verified, nor has her surname of Endicott. Pages 912-914 of The Great Migration Begins concluded that her surname as Endicott may have been the result of confusion in church records.

    A submitter identifies Mary as daughter of Zerobbabel Endicott.
    [Note: The basis for this is unknown. The will of Zerobbabel Endicott [Essex Probate 9072], dated 23 Nov 1683, names a daughter Mary, but does not indicate if she is married or not. If her 1668 baptism is in close proximity to her birth, she is too young to marry about 1677, but Torrey suggests her parents married about 1654, and as her mother is named Mary, she could well be the oldest child (she is listed as the first of her father's 5 daughters in his will). However, Salem records show that a Mary Endicott m. 1685 Isaac Williams and by a document in her father's probate file, dated 5 Feb 1691/2, "Isacc William Juner" has received "what was bequeathed to my wife Mary by her ffather". So this appears to rule out Mary the daughter of Zerobbabel Endicott as wife of Joseph Herrick.]
