"The French and Indians, in August, 1703, attacked all the settlements from Wells to Casco; and, in the destruction of the latter, the Wallis families were severe sufferers. The wives of Josiah and Benjamin Wallis were killed, and Joseph Wallis's wife was carried into captivity."
In a deposition given in 1749, Rebecca (Stanford) Sawyer said the she was the sister of Josiah Wallis's wife who was killed by Indians during Queen Anne's War.
