Erected by MARY KELDAY in memory of her beloved husband WILLIAM KELDAY, born 1.4.1794 died 27.11.1882. Also the above MARY KELDAY born 24.5.1819 died 4.8.1883. 'My race is run, and yours is running, Prepare for death for judgments coming.'
↑ There is a conflict between the baptism record and the gravestone inscription. It is possible that this is actually two separate people, but the marriage records and gravestone of their son clearly state that the maiden name was Mary Tulloch and there is no Mary Tulloch born on that date recorded in the parish registers. The marriage records also show her parents as Thomas Tulloch and Mary (possibly misspelt Margaret) Thomson and show her as coming from "Hobley" (possibly misspelling for "Hooking"). The significant age difference between Mary Tulloch and her husband may indicate a reason for the vagueness around dates.
