    Mary Frances Whitford died at her home in Nile, N. Y. at 2 p.m. Saturday. The daughter of the Rev. James and Rachel was born January 27, 1850. She was married January 1, 1873 to John Byron Whitford, of Berlin, N. Y., who died March 20, 1901.

    Surviving are five of six children, all of whom are members of the teaching profession: B. Frank, Stamford, Conn.; J. Fred, Milton; Ferris S., Little Genesee, N. Y.; William G., Chicago; and Frances E., Cleveland.

    For many years after the death of Mr. Whitford she carried on his business of Postmaster and merchant in Nile; during that time she also contributed original poems to newspapers and magazines. Funeral services will be held Tuesday in the Seventh Day Baptist church in Nile, with interment in the cemetery at Alfred, N. Y.
