the above Named Mary Sprague Departed this Life September 4th 1805.
[Note: this death record is written directly under the 1805 birth, and by all rights, it would appear to apply to that birth. However, the record submitted to the state here adds an age at death that indicates they paired it with the first Mary. There is no mention of an age at death in the original record. so it could be discounted. However, the gravestone of the 1805 daughter, even though in a different state without access to these town records, gives her birthdate as shown in the record, to confirm the 1805 daughter survived, meaning the death, against logic, must belong to the 1801 daughter. No gravestone for the daughter that died young has been found. It is possible that the death date was recorded wrong, but without a gravestone that would be hard to show. So, taken at face value, it appears there were two daughters with the same name, alive, for about 6 months.]

  3. The handwritten records cited could say Marey or Marcy (the gravestone says Marcy), it is very hard to tell, but whichever, it appears they all say the same thing. First as explained above, the 1801 birth and 1805 death go to the same person, the death referring to the above Named Marey/Marcy, and then the other birth, in 1805, says Marey/Marcy 2nd, the 2nd being unnecessary if it was a different name.
