Facts and Events
She died at the St. Joseph's Medical Center, in Bloomigton, Illinois, after a long battle with cancer. She was buried at East Lawn funeral Home in Bloomington, Illinois. She was born and she also died in Bloomington, but she lived may years with Ralph in both Flagstaff and Tuscon Arizona. The family also lived for a short time in Vista (San Diego County) California. I (Jerry D. Abshier) have a fond memory of visiting Ralph and Mary when they lived in Flagstaff. I was a young boy, probably 13 or 14, and I visited with my Uncle Larry Sebring, who is about two years older than I. We had a great time visiting the family and saw the Grand Canyon and slide rock, at a popular canyon near there. Larry and I especially liked the fact that Ralph and Mary had four kids, just about our age. Prior to our visiting them in Arizona, I remember that this family was visiting us in California during the summer that the U.S. first put a man on the moon. I have a vivid memory of seeing the moonwalk on TV, through a large window in our living room in Fountain Valley, California, as we kids played in the front yard. References
