Mrs Mary E. Morgan, daughter of Harrison and Elizabeth Parr Samuels, was borned November 11, 1838, and departed this life June 9, 1924, aged 85 years, 6 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage to Joseph B. Morgan, June 20, 1866. To this union were born six children of which three, Mary Helen, Harry, and an infant son have, with the husband, precedes her to the great beyond. Those living are Floyd H. Morgan, Chicago; John R. Morgan, Bellmont, ILL; and Vana G. Morgan, Alton who has lived with and cared for her mother through life. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, with hosts of relatives and friends. She was the only sister of the late Capt. H. Floyd Samuels.
"Aunt Mary" as she was known, was one of the most beloved of her neighborhool and will be sadly missed. One of her greatest pleasures was when her friends would gather in to spend the day with her.
Short services were held at the home by D. S. Deuchars. The remains were then taken to the Wiseman Cemetery were the services were concluded by Brother Jed Lynch, assisted by Brother William Wilkes.
