↑ 2.02.1 Threlfall, John Brooks, "John Wyatt of Ipswich, Massachusetts and his Wife Mary (-----) Riddlesdale," v. 143 [Apr 1989] : 213-220., in The New England Historical and Genealogical Register. (Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society) (at 143:213, 220).
Recent research indicates that much has been missed, and that (John) Wyatt's "daughters" were actually his stepchildren, daughters of his wife's first husband Edward Riddlesdale.
He (Henry) married first about 1640, Mary Wyatt, born probably about 1616, died in Wenham, 12 Aug 1672, daughter of John and Mary ( ) Wyatt.
↑ Hoyt's (Old Families) and Holman's (Pillsbury Gen) references to a Mary Wyatt may be explained by Threlfall, "John Wyatt of Ipswich" (1989): Edward Riddlesdale's widow Mary married second John Wyatt. Probate and other documents from John Wyatt use terms which imply blood relations when in fact they are children from a first marriage.
