In the 1900 census^[4] the last 3 children of Lewis Bridges were living with Augustus and Mary Phillips. They were listed as boarders (not Augustus's step-children), and Mary indicated that she only had 1 child living (her son by Augustus). In spite of this, it appears that Mary was their mother, based on the 1883 marriage record of "Leila" Randolph to L C Bridges^[3].

Note: If the Ancestry Public Trees are correct, Mary's father was the half-brother of Mary Rebecca Randolph (Lewis Bridges's first wife).
