Mary Pogue, b. Fort Russell in old Fincastle County, Va, Mar 10, 1775, d. Shelbyville, Ky, May 30, 1854; m. Mar 10, 93 Oswald Thomas b. near Philadelphia Sep 10 1769, the eleventh child of Morris Thomas, tanner, cooper and farmer, at Bardstown, then Harrodsburg, moved to Fox Run in Shelby County in 1799, d. Shelbyville Aug 12, 1853. He was a member of Fox Run Baptist church, freed his slaves on his death and provided funds for passage to Liberia; three went—thirteen children borne in this union.
