Children of Sgt. John Nash and Mary ---: 1) Mary, b. Weymouth 21 Sep 1695, d. 12 Jun 1754, m. 4 Aug 1715 Gideon Tirrell of Weymouth. Seven children. [Note: Eight children listed in this family, p. 4:657, also in Weymouth VRs.]
- Sorting out the marriages of the Nash's with the Tirrell's is difficult. Two cousins named Mary Nash, one d/o John and Mary and the other d/o Joseph and Phebe Nash, married Tirrells: one m. 1715 Gideon and the other 1717 Samuel. Further, there are two Gideon Tirrells, one b. 1693 to Gideon and Hannah and the other b. 1694 to William and Abigail. The names of a couple of children born in Weymouth and Abington help sort this out, in a way that agrees with Chamberlain, who doesn't explain how he arrived at his conclusion. One Gideon m. Edith and had a son named William, presumably after that Gideon's father. Samuel and Mary had a daughter Phebe, so she is presumably the daughter of Joseph. That leaves the daughter of John to marry the Gideon, s/o Gideon, b. 1693.
