    Mary, b [say 1651] ; m. before 15 Dec. 1674, John Chantrell. *

    * We are indebted to Mr. Clarence A. Torrey, of Dorchester, Mass., for information on the family of John2 Mellowes which corrects several conclusions hitherto accepted. Elizabeth married Thomas Messinger [Suffolk Deeds and Messinger Genealogy]. John Chantrell's wife was named Mary; in a court case she was referred to as "Mr. Messingers wifes sister."'

    Mary CHANTREL; Date of Death = 30 Sept 1729; age = 88y

It is likely that her age at death was overstated. Had she been born in 1641, her father would have been only 19 years old at her birth, and she would have been 45 at the birth of her youngest child - not impossible, but not as likely as assuming that she was born later.
