More About JOHN KENNEDY and MARY LYLES: Marriage: November 17, 1863, Macon, MS Mary's father was Dr William Durham Lyles, a very prominent Confederate surgeon, head of medicine at the battle of Shiloh, in charge of the Conferderate hospitals at Lauderdale Springs, MS and possibly head of all Confederate hospitals at one time. After John F Kennedy's death, Mary remarried to Henry C Cullum. 1870 census shows no Charles, but John jr, age 3. 1880 census shows Henry alone, listed as widow.
