Mary Logan was married in 1850 to William Monroe, son of Judge Ben Monroe of Frankfort, Ky. Mr. Monroe was engaged in the practice of law at Shelbyville, being a partner with Hon. Martin D. McHenry, one of Kentucky's foremost lawyers. He was a man of high integrity, an earnest consistent Christian man. He died in 1850, five weeks after his marriage, and was laid to rest in the old Logan cemetery. [2]
