Mary (Lewis) Hooke born 1775, died 1861, age 86 years. They moved to Ohio near 1812. They went in a covered wagon; were six weeks on the road. He purchased 500 acres of land within three miles of Xenia. They built a handsome log house, finished inside with black walnut and walnut cupboards with brass handles. This house is occupied by Clinton Hooke, a grandson. The family burial ground was on this farm. James (Hooke), his wife, their three sons, and his sisters are biried there. The oldest grandchild living in 1928 is Mrs. Nettie M. Herritt, Columbus, Ohio, 1044 McAllister Avenue, nearly 85 years old. Mrs. Grace Drake Hubble, 435 Riddle Rd., Clifton, Cincinnatti, Ohio, is a great-grandchild, connected with the Y. P. work of Cincinnatti.
