Obituary - Mary E. Creed
Mary E. Creed, 83, of Rutland, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Rutland Regional Medical Center. She died peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born in Rutland, December 3, 1928, the daughter of Paul and Florence (St. Charles) Lee.
Mary was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy and St. Mary's School of Nursing in Montreal, Canada.
On May 30, 1953, she was married at Christ the King Church to Vernon J. Creed.
Mary was employed as a registered nurse at the Rutland Hospital, the Keenan Clinic and Eden Park Nursing Home in Rutland.
She was a member of IHM, St. Mary's in Brandon and Christ the King in Rutland.
Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed family gatherings and always came prepared with a favorite dish. She had a lifelong love of Lawrence Welk and his music, never missing a Saturday night show. In recent years, she became a fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl C. Clark, her husband Gerald, of Bristol and their children, Danny, Lori and Becky, Patty C. Clark, her husband Ron, of West Rutland and their children, Jason and Chris, Judy C. Mckay, her husband Scott, of Mendon and their children, Kelsey and Ryan; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Kassidy, Aiden and Teaghan; a sister-in-law, Barbara Lee of Longmont, Colo.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1995 and four brothers, Francis P. Lee, Joseph G. Lee, Bernard J. Lee and William S. Lee.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at 11:00a.m. at Christ the King Church in Rutland. Officiating will be Rev. Justin Baker, pastor, and Fr. James Lawrence as concelebrant.
Burial will be at a later date in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Pittsford.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
