1901 Census Boarder in mum's house (Sarah Curry(nee Stewart).

Mary Ann was born on 13th March 1879 at 3 Wellington Road in north Bishopwearmouth near to the Glass Works the fifth child of her parents John Hughes and Sarah Stewart. She was given a third name on her birth certificate 'Stace' which does not have any ancestorial precedent. Her birth was registered by Mary Allinson who was in fact her fathers half-sister, she lived nearby in Milburn Street. On the 1881 census the family remained at Wellington Road but by 1891 they had moved to Margaret Street in the east of Sunderland. Whether due to economics or simply having extra room on both census the family had a lodger living with them.
