Mary Hayes Wardwell retired as a sales clerk for Ted Jacobs Women's Wear in Lorain, where she had worked for more than 30 years. Mrs. Wardwell, 79, died Saturday at her home in Lorain. She was born in Boston, Mass., and lived in Lorain for many years. Mrs. Wardwell was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain, its Marian Guild and the Third Order of St. Francis. Her husband, Lawrence, died in 1976. She lost her daughter, Jayne Futchko, to cancer in October. Mrs. Wardwell is survived by her daughters, Barbara Molnar and Carlene Dallos, both of Lorain; son, Lawrence E. Jr. of Swans Island, Maine; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Anthony Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the New Life Hospice Foundation, 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria 44035. John J.
