    12 Jun 1923 - AN OLD RESIDENT HAS PASSED AWAY - SHE HAD LIVED IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY ALL HER LIFE AND HAD MANY FRIENDS - Mrs. Mary Hall Billingsley, 82 years old, an old resident of this place, died at 2 o'clock Monday morning. Mrs. Billingsley had lived most of her life in Montgomery county and had many friends. She had been ill for some time. Her death was due to the infirmities of old age and complications. Mrs. Billingsley was married to Captain Henry M. Billingsley, August 29, 1865, at Lafayette. He died in 1918. Mrs. Billingsley was a life long supporter of the Republican party and a member of the Missionary Baptist church, which she joined at the age of fourteen. She was also a member of the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic, Gen Manson Circle, No. 36. She was born at Waynetown, January 14, 1841. She was the daughter of Thomas Hall and Nancy Swearingen Hall. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Hawkins, Chicago; Mrs. Eleanor Sanders and Mrs. Laura Smith, both of this city, who were with their sister during the period of her declining health. Funeral services will be at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the home, 314 south Walnut street. Dr. O. R. McKay, of Indianapolis, will be in charge of the services. The memorial service of the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic will be held at 4:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the home.
