- ↑ Mary Ella and Zella appear to be two different people with two different names, yet in 1880 Mary Ella is 5 (born 1875), daughter of Arthur and Vesta and in 1930 Zella Slater is 54 (born abt 1876), daughter of Vesta Fletcher, widow. In 1880, Mary Ella is the only daughter on the census record, so where does Zella fit other than to be Mary Ella from 1880.
Further research needs to be done to establish this as absolutely certain.
