  4. In what appears to be a bad case of indexing malpractice, familysearch.org had a record here that indicates Mary died 9 Dec 1838 even though she appears to have lived past that to marry twice and survive both husbands. However, this was apparently sufficient for several websites to show her as dying in 1838... Further searching yields yet another record for a Mary Elizabeth Emerson who died the same date here, also with a father named Daniel, but different mother and birthplace. Both records link to the same film, which contains only birth records, so it was very unclear how the death date got attached. Searching yielded the two original birth entries: our Mary E. Emerson, and Mary Elizabeth Emerson (the last actually born 6 Apr 1837, not 1827). Neither one has a death date noted on their entry. So searching for a Mary Emerson who died on this death yields yet a third Mary Webster Emerson here, born in yet a third town to yet a third father named Daniel. So both the index entries erroneously show a death date that actually belongs to a third Mary, and the one also shows a mistranscribed birth date. Sigh!
