[edit] Online ObituaryJACOBY Mary Catherine (Dillon) Jacoby left this world on January 1, 2011, surrounded by family in her home, after a courageous struggle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Born February 23, 1930 in Ironton, Ohio to Ruth (Vaughn) and Howard Dillon, she was the beloved wife, best friend and business partner to her husband of nearly 61 years, Gerald (Jerry) E. Jacoby. Together, they built a family, a home and their faith and founded and operated the former Westerville Interiors furniture store in uptown Westerville for 28 years. Mary had a beautiful singing voice, a knack for selecting colors and textures and the ability to design spaces to perfectly suit her customers, but her greatest loves were her husband and family. Mary was the daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and coworker we all aspire to be. Preceded in death by sister Betty Ranney in 2009 and son-in-law Larry Luthi in 2001. She is survived by husband, Jerry; children, Janet (Todd) Walko, Kari Luthi (Ed Schneider) and Robert (Kathy Hoyer) Jacoby; grandchildren, Jack Fleming, Kacy Walko (Michael Stoner), Michael Walko, Luke Luthi, Nicolas Jacoby, Kelli Jacoby and Natasha Schneider; sisters, Jean (Richard) Longhenry and Margay (Ralph) Smith; brother-in-law, Hal Ranney; numerous relatives and many friends. Visiting hours will be in Ballard Hall at Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 South Sunbury Road, Westerville, from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, followed by a memorial service officiated by Dr. Richard Ellsworth in the church's Ellsworth Chapel at 7 p.m. Private burial at Blendon Central Cemetery. Arrangements by the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, Westerville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to any charity of your choice or Mount Carmel Hospice, to whom the family is extremely grateful for all the gentle assistance and loving care given Mary during her long illness.
