Mary M. Crumrine, widow of Eli Crumrine, pioneer banker and stockman of Wyoming, who died in Laramie in 1910, passed away last night at the home of her son-in-law, C.D. Spalding; following a stroke of paralysis.
Mrs. Crumrine was born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania in 1847, in which city she and Mr. Crumrine lived until 1886 when they came to Wyoming. At that time the latter was engaged in the stock raising and banking business, being instrumental in the formation of the Albany National bank, with which concern he was connected at the time of his death ten years ago.
The death of Mrs. Crumrine came as a decided shock to her friends and the members of her family for, though she has been ailing for some time, her condition was not such as to hardly warrant immediate apprehension. Sunday, a severe stroke of paralysis following an illness of several days made her recovery a matter of doubt and late that evening she died.
The deceased is survived by her three children, Harry Crumine of this city, Edgar, of Brownsville, Pennsylvania and Mrs. C.D. Spalding, whose husband is cashier of the Albany National bank.
Upon word being sent of his mother's condition, Edgar Crumrine left his business in Brownsville and arrived here this morning. The funeral arrangements are being made and the services has been set for Wednesday afternoon. Dean Thornberry of the Cathedral will hold the services.
To the children and relatives or the deceased the entire community pours out its most heartful condolences. During her long years of residence in Laramie, Mary Crumrine has become to be recognized as one of the city's most respected and beloved women and the circle of friends who are to mourn her death will indeed be exceptionally large.
