Mary Cox was baptised on 24th March 1861 at St Mellion in Cornwall, daughter of Sarah Cox, formerly Fox, and her husband John Cox, a gamekeeper. The family lived at Newton in the parish of St Mellion. Sadly Mary died when she was only three years old, being buried at St Mellion on 30th June 1864, less than a week after her baby sister had also been buried.
