Research Notes

  • It would appear Demse Carroll had 2 daughters named Mar(e)y. One from his first marriage and one from his second. Both are named in his will. This Mary is from his first marriage and is referred to as "Mary Owens" in his will that has a son "Thomas Hogen", indicating that she had been previously married to a Hogen.
  • One can wonder about the tone of her father's will... was Mary out of favor with her father at the time?
