    Mary “Polly” Caffee Rozzell
    BIRTH 1787
    North Carolina, USA
    DEATH 1855 (aged 67–68)
    Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, USA
    BURIAL: North Fork Cemetery
Long Creek, Macon County, Illinois, USA

Mary was the daughter of Michael Caffey and Margaret Flowers. She married John Rozzell on or about Aug 4 1800 in Salisbury, Rockingham County, NC. (This is the date John acquired a marriage bond.) Before finally settling in Macon County, IL in 1839ish. Before finally settling in Long Creek, they lived in Montgomery, AL, Williamson, TN, and Le Roy, McLean, IL.

John and Mary had 6 children:
    1) Margaret, married Thomas Higgs
    2) Elizabeth, married Andrew Jackson Dickey
    3) Michael Caffee, married Isabella Clementine Davis
    4) Sarah, married Isaac G. Hale & Jesse Barnett
    5) Rebecca Evelyn, married James Washington Wheeler
    6) John A.B., married Lucinda J. Lee

The exact date and place of Mary's death is still unknown. Via Census we know she died between 1850 to 1860. While it isn't certain, it seems likely she is buried next to her husband John. The plots to the right of his tombstone are open. This part of the cemetery is referred to as the Old Section and is full. However many plots lack a visible tombstone to mark the owner. The township who maintains the cemetery had a fire in the 1970s and many of their records of who was buried in this section were lost.

Along with John, two of their daughters are also buried in this cemetery. They are Margaret Higgs and Rebecca Evelyn Wheeler.
