THE GARRETT BURGHARDT FAMILY: Look in "History of Great Barrington" for lots of information on the Burghardts.

Father Garrett Burghardt died on 11 August 1792 in Great Barrington and left a will, a relevant portion of which follows:

I, Garredt Burghardt of Great Barrington in the county of Berkshire, in Commonwealth of Massachusetts, yeoman, being of sound mind and memory, do make & ordain this my last will and testament to be as follows....

I give & bequeath to each of my daughters, Gesjie Van Deusen, Catherine Parsons, & MARY GUNN, in addition to what they have heretofore had of my Estate, each, one a milk cow, in full of their several & respective shares & Proportion of my estate....

Marytje BURGHARDT was married to John Gunn on October 07, 1773 in Great Barrington, Berkshire, Massachusetts by Rev Bostwick. She was christened on July 17, 1757 at the Kinderhook Reformed Dutch Church in Columbia County, New York. She was the daughter of Garrett BURGHARDT and Marytje (Maria) JACOBS. Since she reportedly died in her 63rd year, she may have been born in 1755.
