Word has been received from Douglas, Arizona, of the death of Mrs. Dell Burdick Campbell, wife of Dr. E. E. Campbell of that city. Mrs. Campbell has been in failing health for some time. She was able to ride out as was her custom on the afternoon of Feb. 5th and passed away very suddenly that night in her sleep. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, a son Howard of Oak Park, Ill., and a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Lewis, Douglas, Ariz. and two grandchildren.
Dell, daughter of Delos A. and Mary Bond Burdick, was born in southern Wisconsin, Feb. 21, 1862. Her twin sister died in infancy.
Dell was educated in the Milton public school and attended Milton college. She was a teacher at one time in the grades of the Milton school. She married Edward E. Campbell, a physician practicing in Walworth, while her parents were residents of Janesville, her father being at that time the county treasurer. Upon failing health her husband was obliged to give up his practice in Walworth, they then locating in Milton on Madison avenue where they lived for a number of years. After the marriage of their daughter who went to Arizona to live they decided to move also to that climate and bought a home near her in Douglas, but Mrs. Campbell has been in declining health for some time and her passing was not so unexpected.
