Pioneer settlers on Ivy River about 1790. They lived near Palmers Ford which takes its name from Edmond Palmer. Following Edmonds service in Col. Edmund VA REGT. AMERICAN REV. ARMY.These early settlers helped bring many settlers to this area. Devout christians, they exemplified the hardy people who loved GOD, loved freedom and worked that their descendents might enjoy liberty.
