William D. Carr has: There is no reasonable match for Mary Beach, wife of Silas Beers, in Combined Records of First Presbyterian Church, Morristown. Nevertheless, it appears likely that she is a descendant of Benjamin and Mary Hitchcock Beach. This family migrated with their 8 children (including Mary, born 1702) from Wallingford, Connecticut in 1714 to Newark, NJ. In 1718, they moved to that portion of Hanover Township, Hunterdon County which became Morris County, NJ. Benjamin was born about March 13, 1673/74 in Stratford or Wallingford, was born Dec 10, 1676; she and Benjamin Beach were married in 1695 and had 8 children in Wallingford. Benjamin Beach was appointed, in 1723, Overseer of Higways for Hanover Township, Morris County. Mary (Beach) Beers, widow, together with her sons, sold on Oct. 24, 1831 the land upon which she and her husband Silas had lived in Starkey, Yates Co. A Yates Co. history states that she moved with at least one son to Ohio. At least one son moved to Knox Co., Ohio, so that seems the probable place of her death; there is no evidence that she was buried near Silas Beer's gravesite. (Beaches were reportedly among the early settlers of Knox County, Ohio, so it may be that Mary Beach Beers joined family members there). References
