- ↑ A previous version of this page showed a death date of 5 Feb 1929 in Boston, citing the source MySource:Thornton5603/U.S. City Directories, 1821-1989 (Beta). Since the citation gave no page number or link, it was not sufficiently detailed to verify, and since it appears wrong, it was removed except for this notice. A City Directory is a strange source to cite for a death date...
No birth record has been found yet, so both parents and birthdate are very unsettled. The marriage record names parents as Edward and Margaret, but the censuses that were cited on this page showed Edward and Ann, while the son providing information for the death certificate said John and Margaret (which are given on the marriage record as the groom's parents, and so the son may have been confused about which grandparents?) The various censuses do not agree on age, but the 1900 gives birth as Aug 1854, not the Aug 1857 found on the death certificate. An Edward and Margaret are found in the 1860 census but they have no children which seems to rule them out. A John and Margaret (surname Berry) are found in the 1860 census with a daughter aged 3, a possible match, but the father is from Canada not Ireland, so seem unlikely. Thus, it seems Edward and Ann are correct, though it is far from clear if this page doesn't have information from more than one Mary A. Barry on it?
