Children of Micheal Bacon and first wife Mary: Mary, bp. Winston, England, 18 Feb 1640, m. Mar 1662 Batholomew Gale [sic, see note].
NEHGR, Vol. 41, p. 262, provides a letter dated 2 Jan 1688/89 from Samuel Carter to "Sarg John Lakin At Groaton" that mentions his "Father Bacon" and his "Brother & Sister Simonds", apparently establishing the identity of John's wife. Since sister Sarah Bacon m. Caleb Simmonds, it must refer to this Mary Bacon and Baldwin must be incorrect. Clearly Bartholomew Gale married a different Mary Bacon. Source:Fullwood, Michael D. Fullwood Family, p. 246, noting the above discrepancy, suggests she is perhaps the daughter of William Bacon of Salem.
↑ This date must be 1639/40 as father Michael Bacon was in New England later in 1640. According to NEHGR, Vol. 63, p. 320, she and John Lakin had 3 children by 1661, which would require marriage fairly young (16-17).
