    Inscription: In memory of MARY ANN BROWN, honored and cherished consort of SAMUEL BROWN, a daughter of the late Col. Ignatius and Henrietta Wheeler. She was rich in good works, pious, industrious, charitable. She [delivered/dispersed?] content and happiness throughout all the household and to all who witnessed her example, she [uniformly?] exhibited the living image of a ??? life. Her christian virtues are a rich inheritance to her children. She departed this life Sep.r 7th 1812 in the 30th year of her age. Remember. Admire. Imitate. a feeble testimony of esteem and affection for the best of wives her disconsolate husband has erected THIS MONUMENT.
