  9. There is a birth record for Marvin on 13 Jan 1837 here. This is problematical because Marvin was clearly born in 1846, and census records indicate the family lived in Vermont in 1837 (according to 1850 census children born 1831 in NY, in 1836 and 1839 in Vermont, then 1842 and 1846 in New Hampshire). So it is not believed to be an earlier child who died young, as such a birth never should have been recorded in New Hampshire. It is possibly an attempt to record Marvin's birth but possibly giving something close to Olive's birthdate (9 Feb 1836). No clean simple explanation can be constructed...
