The News - Palladium, Benton Harbor, Mich. Thursday, January 20, 1966, page 18:
Mrs. Marvel Mae Gunn, 68, longtime Watervliet resident, died yesterday morning in Drew's rest home, Eau Claire. Mrs. Gunn was born Sept. 18, 1897, in Freeport, Mich., the daughter of B. L. and Mae Brayton. Survivors include a son, Clarence of Watervliet; five grandchildren; and two sisters (Arlie) Evetts and Mrs. Irving (Loran) Rouse, both of Chicago. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Hutchins funeral home, with the Rev. Walden Owen, pastor of the Midway Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Watervilet cemetery.
