1. Martin M. McFerran, born November 28, 1808, died November 23, 1886, Captain in the Confederate Army, and a prosperous farmer, married Penelope Williamson, (1821-September 3, 1880), married in 1856.
In the 1850 census records, is listed Martin (Mc)Ferran, age 40, farmer worth $15,035.00, living at the home of John and Plecencia Allen. Martin was the son of Placencia by her first marriage to Samuel McFerran. Also, living in the home in 1850 was Penelope Williamson, niece of John Allen, age 29, she daughter of Leonard H. Williamson and Mary Wilson Williamson.
