William C. Forester identifies his name as Martin. Alvin Longstrethindicates he called himself Bartholomew Jr. This is confirmed by astatement in The Longstreth Family Records, page 32. "he (Martin) hadalso a son who signed himself Bartholomew Longstreth, Junr., who in 1769lived a hundred and fifty miles west of Philadelphia, and had fivechildren. " Martin's original land was called "Ruffy" ( 85 Acres and 107 perches). Itwould have been inherited by the oldest son Bartholomew. However, itappears that he (Bartholomew) never returned from the Revolutionary War.Presumed dead an Identure in Bedford Co., PA on January 5th, 1790conveyed the Land to Martin , Jr. (From Descendants of Adam Longstreth byWilliam C. Forester) Note: A "perch" is equivalent to a "rod" or 5.5 feet. One acre is 160square perches. References
