(His grave was the first to bear a marker, made in the Old AuxVasse cemetery) ; m ab 1802-03, Martha Steele, b 11 Jan. 1771, Augusta Co.,. Va. ; d 2, Sept. 1855, Callaway Co., Mo. She was the daughter of Lieut. Jas. Steele, of the Revolution, and Sarah Wright.

    Mr. and Mrs. Henderson emigrated to Callaway Co., Mo., in 1823, and purchased their first Missouri land from Chas. Younger, grand-father of the noted Younger Boys of the Civil War. The old double log house erected by the Youngers in 1822 or earlier, is standing today. Daniel Henderson operated a grist and lumber water mill on the AuxVasse creek a short distance from his house, which, like Ben Bolt's Mill, has long since tumbled in, but the mill-race may be plainly seen today. ...
