Theft: A Martha Rosling of Swayfield was charged on 5th November 1885 of stealing a gold watch and chain from the wife of the rector of Swayfield, Richard Cooper. Martha Rosling was sentenced by Lieut-Col William Parker to six weeks of hard labour. As reported in the Stamford Mercury, 13th November, 1885.
