Martha Louise Wasserman, 85, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at home in Toled o, from complications of congestive heart failure. She was born February 1 1, 1919, in Tiffin OH, the daughter of Urban and Sophie Krupp. A 1937 gra duate of Calvert High School, she married Raymond Wasserman in 1941. Duri ng World War II she served as a secretary for the Tiffin Red Cross. She a nd her family moved to Toledo in 1953. She attended classes at Mary Man se College and began 46 years of dedicated service at St. Agnes School, fi rst for three years as a teacher, then as the school secretary for 39 year s, then for four years in the school's business office, formally retiri ng in 2003. In April 2004 she was inducted into the St. Agnes Parish Ha ll of Fame. Martha loved being a member of the parish school community and treasured h er working relationships through the tenures of five pastors of St. Agn es Church and five principals at St. Agnes School. Her priority was her fa mily, and she rejoiced in celebrating family events together. Family and f riends know of her joy in gardening, feeding birds daily in her backyar d, and taking care of abandoned dogs. She maintained a lifelong respect f or the Ursuline Sisters, her teachers and mentors, and was a founding memb er of the Ursuline Associates. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; son, Thomas Raymond; dau ghter and son-in-law, Jane and Robert Bokerman. Surviving are her daughter s, Maryann (Donald) Buckenmeyer, Toledo, and Ruth (Richard) Swierczek, Mar ietta, GA; sons, Thomas Charles (Marsha), Stillwater, MN, and Michael (Rob in Konecki), Waterville OH; grandchildren, Jennifer Jenks, Boston, MA, Jo nathan Jenks (Sarah Jenkins), Toledo, Brian and Kevin Swierczek, Mariett a, Julie DeBolt, Los Angeles, CA, Martin (Hannelore) Buckenmeyer, Portlan d, OR; great-grandson, Austin DeBolt, Los Angeles and great-granddaughte r, Lily Buckenmeyer, Portland. She is also survived by her sister, Sist er Mary Rose Krupp, of the Toledo Ursulines. The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest OH, for their suppo rt and assistance in helping Martha spend her last days with her fami ly at home. She donated her body to the Medical College of OH. Visitors will be receiv ed at Blanchard Brothers Funeral Home, 1163 W Sylvania at Lockwood (419-47 8-2381) Ave., on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. A memorial Mass will be held at S t. Agnes Church, 3891 Martha Ave., on Monday at 11 a.m. The family asks that tributes be made to St. Agnes School or to the Ursuli ne Convent, 4045 Indian Rd.
