Suffield Vital Records, Births, Marriages, Deaths 1662-1904, 1:14 [FHL 1,317,067]. The Suffield vital records are in very bad condition, faded with portions of the pages missing; often it is necessary to rely on the Barbour Collection of Connecticut Vital Records.

This death appears to have recorded at Windswor (where Edmund Marshall bought land in 1684; … as "Mercy, wife of Mr. Edmund Marshel" died 28 September 1697 (Windsor Vital Records, 1:48 [FHL 1,316,427]). The only Marshall family in Windsor at that time had no Edmund, no Mercy, and no females who died in 1697 (John Insley Coddington, "The Wilton and Marshall Families of Windsor, Conn., and Northampton, Mass.," The American Genealogist 38 [1962]:1-12 at 8-12).
