Questionable Information Found
No references found to a "Rev. Joseph Guild" in books or magazine articles, much less as a husband of Martha (discounting unsourced Graves Genealogy). Which state did he live in? Was this a first or second marriage? Where and when did the marriage occur? If it did, some of this should be findable, but isn't.

Specifics:

Source:Boltwood, Lucius M. Genealogies of Hadley Families, published 1862, p. 63: "Martha, b. March 7, 1731". No marriage indicated. There is no section on surname GUILD, or any mention of a Joseph Guild.

Source:Graves, John Card. Genealogy of the Graves Family in America, published 1896, p. 17: "MARTHA, born Mch. 7, 1731; md. Rev. Jos. Guild.". [Note lack of marriage date or any other information on the husband or any further information about Martha. Nothing in the text of her father has any reference, such as will or deed, that might serve as possible evidence.

Source:Crafts, James M. History of the Town of Whately, Mass., 1661-1899, published 1899, p. 477: "Martha, b. at Hat 7 March, 1731, m. Rev. Joseph Guild:". Note that there is no other mention of Rev. Joseph Guild in the entire book or any section on Guild in the genealogy section, except for p. 585, where "Martha [Smith, a twin of Philip Smith] m. Joseph Guild".

Source:Graves, Kenneth Vance. Thomas Graves, 1645 Settler of Hartford, Connecticut and Hatfield, Massachusetts and His Descendants, published 1985, Volume 1, p. 34: Martha Graves, b. 7 March 1731, m. (Rev.) Joseph Guild." This, as is often the case, is verbatim what is shown on the Graves Family Association website search for "Joseph Guild".

Source:Chamberlain, Portia. Bardwell-Bordwell Descendants, published 1964, p. 4: "MARTHA b. Hatfield 1731 Mch 7 m. Rev. JOSEPH GUILD".

Various searching, much of it broad, such as any reference in books.google.com, any reference in NEHGR, etc., has yielded nothing except as noted.

Hatfield records p. 69 show "son of Joseph Guild born July 19th 1793", and there appears to be a death of this child on p. 115: "Joseph Guild's child [died] July". This cannot be the child of a woman born in 1731, so if this is the Joseph Guild referred to, the wife is not this Martha Graves. This appears to be the only Hatfield record for Guild.
