Martha Criqui Brockman
Martha Brockman, 72, Topeka, died Thurs., Dec. 8, 2005.
She was born on May 22, 1933 in Melvern, the daughter of Herbert and Mary Barbee Criqui.
She was raised in the Melvern community, and had lived in Topeka since 1969. She graduated from Melvern High School in 1951.
She had worked for Southwestern Bell as an accountant and supervisor. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She married Ken Burnett in 1952; they later divorced. In 1972, she married Bill Brockman, they were married 30 years, and he was the love of her life. He died June 1, 2002.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Rowdy Burnett.
Survivors include four children; Pam Julian, Topeka, Cindy May, Auburn, Penny Maxfield, Maple Hill, and Todd Burnett, Topeka; a stepson, Scott Brockman, Lawrence; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ellen Arb, Melvern, and Betty Midhour, Oklahoma; two brothers, Herb Criqui, Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Bill Criqui, Melvern; and a special friend, Mary Ree Miller.
Services were Dec. 12 at Melvern United Methodist Church. Burial was in Melvern Cemetery.
