  1. ↑ Christening record gives the given name as "Marles"; this is presumed to be the Dutch form of "Martha". However, some sources give "Marles" as the contracted form of "Marie Lisa". In anycase, so far I've not found "Marles" as even an uncommon Dutch name, and whether "Marles" is the equivalent of "Martha" or not. Most genealogists working this lineage give "Martha" as the child born on the baptismal date for "Marles".
