A wake for Marjorie Wardwell Ryan, 73, who died Oct. 14, 1999, at Washoe Medical Center, is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Ryan's Saloon. A native of Michigan, she was born March 6, 1926, to Albert Ellory and Ethel (Sealy) Wardwell and had lived in Reno since 1973, coming from Northridge, Calif. Mrs. Ryan owned and operated Ryan's Saloon and was a member of the Catholic Church. She graduated from high school in Detroit and attended Ann Arbor University in Michigan. Her husband, John A., preceded her in death. Surviving are son, Lee Barkley and daughters, Karen A. Ryan and Susan Cruickshank, all of Reno; sons, Robert J. Barkley of Camareo, Calif., and James J. Ryan of Virginia; and daughter, Kathleen Miller of Las Vegas. A wake is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan's Saloon. Cremation will be at Mountain View Crematory, under the direction of Ross, Burke & Knobel Mortuary, Reno. Reno Gazette-Journal 20 October 1999
