"Marilyn Wardwell Bride at Harpswell- Harpswell, Nov. 2 - Miss Marilyn Hope Wardwell of North Harpswell and Lee Earl Chipman of Harpswell Center were married Saturday night in the Elijah Kellogg Church, the Rev. George King and the Rev. Robert Morris officiating. The traditional wedding music was played by John Dunlap, organist, and 'I Love You Truly' was sung by Mrs. Malcolm Whidden and John Allen. The bride's gown was fashioned of white brocaded satin designed with sweetheart neckline, three-quarter sleeves, fitted bodice and full skirt. She carried an arm bouquet of white carnations. Mrs. Otis Brown, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, wearing a floor length gown of blue silk marquisette over taffeta, and an arm bouquet of pink carnations. A reception followed in Harpswell Center Improvement Hall, which was decorated with greens and flowers. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olie Wardwell of Caribou, and attended Washburn High School. She is employed by Textron, Inc. The bridegroom attended the Harpswell schools and Brunswick High School. He was discharged from the Army with the rank of technical sergeant." -Portland Press Herald 03 November 1947 References
