She graduated from Central High School, Minneapolis, 1933, ranking sixth in a class of 375. She was a member of the National Honorary Society. She attended Business College, studied Dramatic Arts at the Y.W.C.A., attended Bible College in Minneapolis. She did office work at Sears Roebuck, and worked at Flower Valley Orchards. She has taught sunday school for 25 years, and worked with Girl Scouts for 35 years receiving the "Thanks badge" (Girl Scouts highest award). She received the "Honor Volunteer", award from the Volunteer Directors association of Red Wing, Minnesota. She was a member of the P.E.O. Friends of the Library, Study club, LCW, Opera Club, Art Study Group, Seminary Plaza Planning group, League of Woman Voters, former PTA President of Hancock School, Goodhue County Historical Society volunteer, and the church library committee.
