    Mrs. Mariah Louise Norcross was born at Princeton, Missouri, April 12, 1852 and departed this life October 4, 1922, being 70 years, 5 months and 22 days old.

    Mrs. Norcross was the daughter of Josiah and Elizabeth Maxwell McClelland, whose home was at Princeton, Missouri. Her siblings were: Martha Jane, Sarah B. Plesilla, James, Harriet, and Jane H. Her father was a minister in the Christian church and was baptized by A. Campbell. Her parents are buried in Mercer County, Missouri.

    Miss McClelland was married to Dr. J.P.Norcross at Princeton, Missouri, September 4, 1871. There have been born to their union, Mary Elizabeth Flagg, of Kearney; Mrs. Oliver McCurry, of Litchfield,; Mrs. Robert J. Nethery, of Riverside, California; Mrs. C. R. Keyser, of Miller; J.J. Norcross, of Bridgeport, Nebraska; Mrs. E. J. Speith, of Peru, Illinois; Mrs. D. C. Perry of Elgin, Nebraska, and Mrs. F. D. Schneider, of Loup City, Nebraska. All survive their mother and were all present on this occasion. There are eighteen grand and one great=grandchild.

    Mrs. Norcross's husband passed on to welcome her coming six years ago, March 19, 1916. She leaves also three sisters, who await their summons hence. Dr.and Mrs. Norcross made their home at various places until about twenty-five years ago when the family located at Miller, Nebraska the present home. They were pioneers in this part of the country and helped to build it to present proportions. He practiced his profession in an early day throughout the whole county.

    Mrs. Norcross was converted when very young, and united with the Christian church and remained faithful to her convictions and her church to the end.
